About Me

Hi, I’m Evanna,  a girl on the verge of 30 who grew up in beautiful Cork, Ireland but have been living and adventuring in different parts of the world for many years. Right now, Boston, MA is where my husband and I call home.

My background is in marine science where I worked with small fishing communities to manage fishing in a sustainable manner as well as supporting the local community and conducting research on their behalf. I have always had a passion for food however and once our move to the States was confirmed, I decided I wanted to finally pursue a career in food. In January 2016, I attended the 12 week certificate course at Ballymaloe Cookery School, a school set in the grounds of a 30 acre organic farm in the East Cork countryside. I was lucky enough to meet some incredible people and learn so much while consolidating my love of food.

Having recently made the Atlantic crossing, I am now happily ensconced in the Boston food world.  I am working as a freelance culinary professional for a range of events while trying to get settled in. Primarily, I have been working towards developing my own Irish food business here – a farmers market business called “Sásta” (the gaelic word for satisfied). Stay tuned for more on this in the coming months.

My hope is to bring traditional Irish foods to Boson but with the modern approach to food that is so important in Ireland now. From seasonal and local ingredients to an emphasis on the wonderful artisan producers, Ireland has become a food force to be reckoned with but is still relatively underrepresented.
Follow me on my journey to bring my passion for the Irish kitchen to Boston and beyond.
