Yesterday, I turned 30. I was not particularly stressed about it nor am I a massive birthday person but I have spent some time lately thinking about where life has brought me in the last decade. New England Corn Chowder

When you think of a country, chances are you have some preconception about the food there, regardless as to whether its accurate. Its pretty common to hear people declare their love for corned beef and cabbage when thinking of Irish food when, really it is an immigrant interpretation of bacon and cabbage. France has its snails, frogs legs and baguettes. England has its fish and chips, bangers and mash and Spain – tapas and paella. Grilled Peach, Goats Cheese and Blueberry Salad

This salad is one of my favourite lunches at the moment. It is full of the best of New England produce and is like summer in a bowl. It makes a great weekend lunch to eat outside or as a side dish at a BBQ. The important thing here is to use ripe juicy peaches and to grill them slowly, grilling them too quickly will make them stick to the grill. Grilling them brings out even more sweetness and the peppery rocket balances this really well. Continue reading

I cant begin to count the number of times I have heard the phrase “I don’t like tuna” and I totally understand! When most people grow up on soggy tuna sandwiches made with that tinned stuff in brine, I can see why people have a negative view of this majestic fish – what a shame!
