A Whole New Chapter

Today has been a long time coming for me. Growing up in Cork, the name Ballymaloe has lurked around every food corner and jumped out in the most wonderful of ways at farmers markets, restaurants, bakery’s and a host of other food businesses for as long as I can remember. Since I was a 12 year old girl, starting to appreciate the wonders of food, Ballymaloe has been synonymous with the ethos of healthy, wholesome and sustainable local food doing good for everyone concerned. Why wouldn’t you be inspired! Travelling and living abroad just compounded how wonderful and special this place is and so, I have finally taken the leap and signed up to the 12 week intensive certificate course.


It is going to be one hell of an adventure, living and working on a 100 acre organic farm, cooking in kitchens for the first time and learning how to make dreams of a food business into a reality. I have no idea where this journey will take me but I have a feeling I won’t be the same person as when I arrived and that change will be for the better. I have already met incredible people from all over the world and a diverse range of backgrounds. We have been treated to some of the best local produce from artisan producers and I am so proud of this little corner of the world every minute here!

I can tell you that this immersion in food is finally going to allow me some time to focus on passing on tips, recipes and pictures from the explorations we are undertaking here at Ballymaloe and I hope you will all join me on this once in a lifetime adventure. It will be worth it I promise! For now, just some pictures from day 1:
